Summary (Major Purpose of the Role):

The Sr. Analyst, Distribution Planning is a senior position within the DRP group responsible for a variety of deliverables across multiple aspects of the function. A core aspect of the role is responsibility for assessing requirements for analysis and reporting and to develop tools that can be used by multiple users across the Supply Chain team. This position is also the escalation point with the DRP team and serves as a key support to the Distribution Planning Manager in process execution and issue resolution. The Sr. Analyst is the primary Supply Chain point of contact for providing service level updates to internal Commercial team counterparts, in routine communications as well as on an ad-hoc basis. Finally, this position will lead, participate and contribute to Supply Chain development projects across different processes, tool implementation and enhancement areas.

Main Activities/Responsibilities:
  • Analysis and appropriate actions to ensure target inventory levels are in place to deliver service levels required
  • Development of new and/or improved tools for use across the Distribution Planning team
  • Go-to team member for all communications with the Commercial team
  • Plan and execute product transfers across Distribution Center network
  • Manage relevant master data and overall data integrity for key drivers of Distribution Planning and service
  • Managing service levels and coordinating action and communication to improve
  • Responsible for management reporting and analytics on service, cost, inventory
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects targeted at optimizing the overall supply chain
  • Help create KPI’s to continually reevaluate DRP’s executional tasks and their impact on the business
  • Point of escalation for issue resolution, including mitigation of team questions before management intervention is required
  • Ensure team members are trained according to their assigned roles
  • Review and approve exception transfers up to $250 and present for approval exceptions above $250
  • Maintain Daily, Weekly, Monthly data for standard reporting
  • Additional responsibilities as needed
  • Very organized and detail oriented with the ability to set priorities.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including developing reports and presenting data to groups of internal stakeholders
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of Supply Chain theory and concepts
  • Project management experience
  • Some experience in people management
Reporting Relationships and Supervision:
  • Reports Direct to Manager, Distribution Planning
  • Little to no Supervision
  • Provides additional training to the Transfer Analyst
  • Provides additional training to the Distribution Planning Analyst
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, Supply Chain or related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • 4+ years’ experience in a Supply Chain or similar position
